Marjan, a prominent developer in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), recently unveiled its ambitious project, RAK Central, set to become a dynamic mixed-use destination in the United Arab Emirates. This mega-undertaking is poised to reshape the landscape, offering a vibrant work, live, and play hub spanning 3 million square feet of office space, 4,000 residential apartments, three hotels, numerous parks, and verdant areas.
Positioned on Sheikh Mohammed bin Salem Al Qasimi Street, with captivating views of Al Hamra Golf Club and the Arabian Gulf, RAK Central aims to be the largest commercial business district in the Northern Emirates. With construction scheduled to commence in 2024, the initial phase is anticipated to conclude by Q4 2026.
The project aligns with the vision outlined in RAK Vision 2030, contributing to economic diversification, job creation, and community development. RAK Central is designed to attract top-tier businesses, serving as a premier business hub and headquarters for regional entities, including Marjan itself.
Abdulla Al Abdouli, CEO of Marjan, envisions RAK Central as a catalyst for economic growth in Ras Al Khaimah, providing high-value property for international investors and fostering a conducive environment for businesses. The project reflects Marjan's commitment to crafting ambitious developments that honour the emirate's heritage.
In line with sustainability principles, RAK Central aims for LEED Gold Certification and will incorporate advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), to create an intelligent, cutting-edge ecosystem. The development includes freehold residential plots meticulously arranged for picturesque views, pedestrian-friendly spaces, and expansive parks, promoting a serene lifestyle.
As part of its strategic approach, Marjan is exploring alliances to support RAK Central's development and realize the vision set by the emirate's leadership. The project is expected to attract investments from multinational companies across sectors such as hospitality, leisure, retail, finance, logistics, and construction.
The development will unfold in stages, with the initial phase comprising one million square feet of commercial office space for lease, residential plots for development, and Marjan's headquarters. Gensler, a renowned global architecture and design firm, is responsible for conceptualizing Marjan's headquarters and the integrated mixed-use office complex, showcasing a commitment to world-class design.
RAK Central represents a significant leap forward for Ras Al Khaimah, blending economic growth, sustainable practices, and community development in a meticulously planned and technologically advanced mixed-use destination. As construction progresses, RAK Central is poised to become a cornerstone in the realization of RAK Vision 2030, shaping the future of the emirate.
